Community Connections

Looking for a free alternative to our paid group coaching community? Check out the Rands Leadership Slack. It’s a broad, tech-heavy community with channels like #fractional-cto-and-vpe, #consulting, and #coaching, where folks regularly share advice, opportunities, and experiences. While it’s not all specifically for fractionals, there’s a solid mix of people building businesses, consulting, and figuring out their next thing.

There’s also a Fractional CTO and VPE Lean Coffee (via Zoom) every other Thursday at 11am ET / 8am PT, organized out of #fractional-cto-and-vpe. It’s a casual, open discussion for anyone working fractional or exploring it. While it’s CTO/VPE focused and tech-org heavy, it’s a pretty open-minded group—we get CDOs, CPOs, and freelancers in the mix as well.

You might also check out CTO Lunches—a free, email-based discussion community. It’s tech-heavy and generally broad, with a healthy mix of consultants, fractionals, and people figuring out what’s next. There are also in-person lunches in cities around the U.S. and the world, if you want to connect face-to-face. Good conversations, no spam (unless you order it).

If you know of other communities that are helpful and inclusive, please let me know!

He’s in that “fractional founding engineer” mode with a client. He’s been working on a complex project for about 9 months, delivering functionality with many moving pieces and various unknowns due to external dependencies. The Launch Anxiety The required functionality is delivered. It’s ready to go live in production. Read more
