So it’s been a month since my last real post. May 30th, and here we are at the end of June with me feeling like I owe you an explanation.

The short version: I’ve been doing a bunch of stuff that isn’t writing content for this list, and that’s been eating me alive because I literally coach fractionals to write regularly and here I am not doing it myself.

Here’s what I’ve actually been up to:

The For Fractionals community launched. We had our kickoff on June 2nd. It’s a Slack community at https://forfractionals.com/ - 87 members so far, which isn’t bad for early days.

I’ve been doing the biweekly Fractional CTO/VPE Lean Coffee. Plus sometimes substitute hosting the CTO Coffee Lean Coffee.

A discovery call that turned into deep coaching. Had a great conversation with a For Fractionals member who wanted to dig into how I package fractional offerings and structure proposals. We went deep on scope creep, monthly retainers, pricing tiers, and how to avoid getting dragged back into delivery work. I was feeling unwell. Which wiped me out more than I expected.

The result? No coaching sessions to speak of. No written content. Just a lot of hosting and community building and trying not to fall over.

I’m not going to pretend this was some strategic content pause or that I was “still doing the work behind the scenes.” I just got pulled in different directions and the writing - the thing that actually drives business - got pushed aside.

We’ll see what happens next.
